Calvin Fryar
Chairman of the Board

Calvin has served on many boards and committees. He has been President of the Brownwood Chamber of Commerce, Chairman of the Brownwood Economic Development Corporation, Chairman of the Brownwood Industrial Foundation, President of the Brownwood Rotary Club, Chairman of the Brown County Appraisal District, President of National and State Cattle Associations. Served on the Brown County West Texas Rehabilitation Committee. He was named Brownwood Outstanding Man under 35, received the Groner Pitts Lifetime Service Award, Boy Scouts Distinguished Service Award and the North Star BSA Award.

John Guest
President & CEO

John went to work for Citizens National Bank in 1982. He became President and was elected to the board of CNB in 2010. In 2014 he was named Chief Executive Officer and has remained in that capacity with the bank to date. John and Jan have one daughter, Jacey Elizabeth Guest, who has graduated with a Master of Science in Finance degree from Rawls College of Business at Texas Tech University. She is currently employed at Lone Star Ag in Fort Worth, TX. John has served the Brown County community in many ways throughout his years here. He is a member of the Kiwanis Club of the Pecan Valley and has served on numerous boards, including the Brown County Fair Association where he was Chairman of the Rodeo Committee for several years. He also is currently serving on the Brownwood Industrial Foundation, the West Texas Rehabilitation Center Board, and the Zephyr Water Board.

Steve Fryar
Board Member

Raised in Brownwood, Fryar has been involved in his family’s oil and fuel business since 1980.  PF&E Oil Company also owned and operated several Food Plaza convenience stores in the Central Texas Area before selling off their retail segment in 2018 and sold and distributed fuel to their dealer network of convenience stores. He has also had an interest in Fryar Cattle Company.

Tim Nabers
Board Member

Tim was born in Brownwood, Texas and grew up in Austin, Texas. He played tennis at Westlake High School and Baylor University. He earned his BBA at Baylor University while majoring in Finance and Economics. Tim graduated from Baylor Law School and is licensed to practice law in the State of Texas.

Carter Sharpe
Board Member

Carter was born and raised in Brownwood. He graduated from Brownwood High School, then Texas A & M University with a BBA in Finance in 1989. He began work career at the First National Bank in Bryan. In 1992 he moved back to Brownwood purchasing the Garrett Insurance Agency. In 1995 he joined forces with Smith Insurance Agency which is now known as Smith and Sharpe Agencies. He has been married to Kristi for 30 years with three grown children. He joined CNB board in 2017.
