Job Overview
Citizens National Bank is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our mortgage lending team as an Entry-Level Mortgage Lending Assistant. Responsibilities

  • Assist in gathering, reviewing, and organizing loan documentation for residential mortgage files.
  • Communicate with borrowers, title companies, appraisers, and internal departments to ensure files move efficiently through the pipeline.
  • Track loan progress and maintain accurate updates in processing systems.
  • Prepare and verify application data, disclosures, and other required documents under supervision of the loan officer.
  • Ensure compliance with bank policies, TRID timelines, and applicable lending regulations.
  • Manage deadlines and prioritize multiple files in a fast-moving environment.
  • Provide excellent customer service by maintaining clear and professional communication throughout the loan process.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent require; college coursework in business, finance, or related field encouraged.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a deadline-driven, high-volume environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with computers and ability to learn new software quickly.

  • Conduct regular staff training on financial software, retail math, basic math skills, debits & credits, and other relevant procedures
  • Maintain detailed records of transactions, incident reports, shift logs, and compliance documentation
  • Preform ATM balancing and reconciliation under dual-control procedures

Skills

  • Proven experience in financial sales and customer relationship management within a banking or retail environment
  • Expertise in fraud prevention and detection techniques to safeguard assets and customer information
  • Excellent relationship management skills to build trust with clients and team members alike
  • Proficiency in financial software systems used for transaction processing and record keeping
  • Ability to perform retail math calculations accurately including cash handling, debits & credits, and basic math functions
  • Exceptional customer service skills with a positive attitude and active listening abilities
  • Experience in cash management procedures such as balancing tills, reconciling accounts, and managing cash flow
  • Familiarity with 10 key typing skills for efficient data entry under pressure
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail
  • Effective communication skills to train staff, resolve conflicts, and coordinate with other departments
